Shipping Explained

How provider rate shopping, controlled label purchase, tracking reconciliation, cold-chain eligibility, and shipping exceptions work.

1 min read

Rates and labels are transactional

After an order is packed, the platform requires a verified destination and package weight before requesting ShipStation V2 rates. Returned services, amounts, and estimates are retained with the shipment.

Buying or voiding a label is a privileged, MFA-gated action with an idempotency key and exact action-time confirmation. A successful UI click is not enough: the provider result and durable operation record must agree. Tracking updates are accepted only through an authenticated, replay-protected webhook and exact label/shipment match.

Carrier estimates are not dispatch or delivery guarantees. Exceptions stay visible for retry and reconciliation.

Research-use only. The portal, invoice, and lot certificate are the current-state records. Marketing copy is not a guarantee of inventory, timing, or eligibility.
